Design-led trains

Trains where the interior is the product: Japanese joyful trains, dining cars sold as the journey, and high-speed stock designed as a signature.

A design-led train is booked for what is inside it. Most of the catalogue's examples are Japanese, where operators build named trains around a single route, a material or a local craft tradition, and sell them as ordinary reserved seats.

The rest are dining trains and premium high-speed services where the cabin, not the destination, is the reason to choose that departure. Reservation rules differ sharply between the two, so each page records the operator's own booking route.
