Everything about the way this runs assumes you are here for the travelling itself; the schedule leaves room for the journey to be looked at. Spread over more than a day between Vancouver and Banff, the landscape has time to change completely, so the run reads as a cross-section of the region rather than a single sightseeing moment. The middle of the route, through Kamloops Train Siding, is where the journey stops feeling like a departure and starts feeling like a place of its own. There are few intermediate calls, so the run feels continuous once it is underway.
