Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway climbs from New Jalpaiguri and the Siliguri plain through Kurseong and Ghum to Darjeeling. Over roughly 88 km the narrow-gauge line gains more than two vertical kilometres using tight curves, loops and reverses; Ghum is the high point before the final descent into Darjeeling.
